General Description
The cafe manager, who must be well presented at all times, is responsible for the day to day operation of the café with the ability to develop and train a team of staff , maximise sales and productivity, as well as providing outstanding customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
 |
To manage, train, supervise and motivate staff, ensuring their development. |
 |
To ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to, in line with legislation and the Society’s ethos |
 |
To monitor the appearance of the premises, ensure it is kept clean, tidy, well organised, fully stocked and fully staffed. |
 |
To order any supplies needed for the cafe & housekeeping |
 |
To assist in the advertising and marketing of the cafe, planning new campaigns to attract customers, in liaison with Management and support from them. |
 |
To engage and interact with customers/guests, in a way that promotes a warm and friendly atmosphere within the House. |
 |
To be able to work efficiently with professionalism at all times and maintain high standards. |
 |
To deal with complaints or difficult situations in an efficient and professional manner. |
 |
To supervise and monitor food and service quality and act accordingly. |
 |
To have the drive to develop the business forward. |
 |
To complete such aspects of general administration, e.g. cashing up, opening and closing down, ordering, stocktaking, inventories, staff rotas, checking-in and out. |
 |
To assist in the hotel side of the business and deputise in management’s absence. |
 |
To undertake such other tasks as directed by the management as if they were expressly written into this job description. |
 |
To hold or to obtain within 3 months of appointment a personal bar licence. |
 |
To hold a first aid certificate. |
